If presents can be adorned with a bow, then why not you? After all, your presence should always be considered a gift!
Every holiday season bows are on trend. Not just bows made out of ribbon but bows printed on to clothing and bow shaped accessories.
I love a great bow ring or bracelet, something about it is classic and simple. Four years ago I purchased a gunmetal ring and bracelet with a great bow detail in gemstones and wear them both all the time.
This post is a little longer but I just want to show you all the ways you can add a bow to your outfit whether it be part of your outfit, a piece of jewelry, a hair accessory, a belt, or a bag.
This necklace from The Limited is perfect for the season. The large pave bow is a vintage gold with jet black rhinestones. This necklace looks great with a number of looks especially sweaters or sweater dressed with a high neckline.
Bows also make great hair accessories if you know how to wear them. This headband from L. Erickson is a great way to wear the trend. Go for a looser bow in a headband, you can try bow shaped clips but if they are too shiny or made of ribbon you are going to look like you are trying to be a 6 year-old. A bejeweled bobby pin with bow accent is also a great hair alternative.
A bow belt is the most literal way you can wrap yourself up as a gift! You can find belts of all kinds with a front bow detail but I love this one from Dorothy Perkins. This one is more like a piece of jewelry than a typical leather belt. This one you wear at the waist with the bow centered and on display.
Looking for a bow with a little more edge? This stretch ring by Betsy Johnson is a great piece! It fits everyone because of its stretch construction but also pops on the hand with a great jewels. This is definitely a statement ring.
Looking for a really cheap way to wear this trend? These black and gold bow studs from target are only $15 and look great with outfits for all occasions. I think a pair of bow shaped studs is almost as much of a staple as a pair of classic diamond (or fake diamond of course) studs.
This bow ring from Anndra Neen is a little more expensive ($120) but is a great example of some more edgy bow accessories. It is described as mimicking dancing seaweed but I think it looks almost like bones, which makes it cooler in my opinion.
If you want something to wear on your wrist you can start with this Kate Spade New York skinny mini bow bracelet. This gives you the look of having wrapped a small bow around your wrist, a great touch to a holiday look.
A bow clutch is also a must have. I have several but never have anywhere to bring them (I carry large bags usually). But if you have an event and need a bag this bow clutch from The Limited is perfect. The simple shape and basic black color make it match anything.
Another way to wear a bow in your hair without looking like a child is with a simple bejeweled bobby pin. These clips from Lauren Conrad via Kohls are a simple and delicate touch.
FINALLY the final look I will present is this great bow printed sweater from The Limited. This sweater gives the illusion of a detached bow at the waist but in reality it is just printed into the fabric. I love everything about the pieces it is paired with as well.
Bow details are everywhere. While you are shopping this holiday season keep your eye out for the trend, you will see it on everything!
